Welcome to SolarPanelsInformation.org.uk!

Here you can find out whatever you want to know about solar panels; if you don't find the answer you are looking for here on the website then you can contact one of our friendly and qualified staff for free, and we'll be sure to get the answer for you.
Not only do we provide information about solar panels, we also offer solar installations of both PV solar cells and solar thermal collectors. As government-approved solar installers, by using us for your solar installation you will be eligible for the lucrative financial incentives that are now on offer as well.
What Is Solar Energy?
If you would like to know how solar panels work, we have a page dedicated to that. As a little introduction though, we just thought it would be useful to briefly explain a little bit about what solar energy is.
Of course everyone knows that solar energy is the energy that we get from the sun. This energy comes in different forms though, heat and light. So when we're talking about solar energy in terms of solar panels, which of those are involved, or is it both?
Well the answer is that it is a little bit of both, after all they cannot really be separated. However, it's possible for it to be a relatively bright day and it could still be cold. So it's an important question, because especially in terms of the UK, it certainly isn't always warm so if the panels relied on warmth then they probably wouldn't work very well.
The good news for people in relatively cold climates is that it is not the heat, it is actually the light which provides the solar power. That's even for the solar thermal systems which heat water, so they'll work in the winter as well. The more energy the light has though, in other words the hotter it is, the better the solar panels will work, but they still do function well in cold weather.
Advantages of Solar Energy
There are many advantages to using solar panels, some of them environmental and some of them financial. The main ones are:
· Reduce your carbon footprint,
· Help in the fight against global warming,
· Save money on energy bills,
· Make money with the feed in tariff.

If the science is correct then the problem of global warming is a very serious one. Unfortunately we cannot simply stop burning fossil fuels as we need to continue to do that to run the economy. The only way to avoid global warming without a total economic collapse is therefore to switch to renewable energy, like solar energy.
Fortunately that is now more economical, as you do not only make savings on your energy bill, but you make money with the feed in tariff. You can find out more about that in the “Feed In Tariff” section.
